National Parks at Benaroya

Special Event
In an event sure to delight outdoors enthusiasts, Benaroya Hall in Seattle will come alive October 24, 2018 at 7:30 pm with beautiful musical compositions by Northwest Symphony Orchestra (NWSO) coupled with lovely imagery of U.S. national parks. The spectacular performance, “National Parks at Benaroya,” celebrates the 25th anniversary of Washington’s National Park Fund (WNPF), the official philanthropic partner for Mount Rainier, North Cascades, and Olympic National Parks. Funds raised by WNPF augment federal funding and enable more than 40 projects annually in these parks. Tickets to “National Parks at Benaroya” can be purchased via the Benaroya Hall website. The event will feature NWSO performing Antonin Dvorak’s most popular symphony, “From the New World,” alongside the West Coast premiere of Adrian Wyard’s live “Visuals from National Parks.” In addition, NWSO will perform Richard Wagner’s “Entry of the Gods into Valhalla” while selected photos and videos by local outdoors fans are showcased. A short piece by The Musical Mountaineers and commentary by Stan Austin, Director of National Park Service’s Pacific West Region, will round out the event. Washington's National Park Fund has awarded more than $5.5 million to Mount Rainier, North Cascades, and Olympic National Parks over the past few years. Funds support science and research, visitor experiences, volunteers and stewardship, and youth and family programs. About Washington’s National Park Fund: Washington's National Park Fund (WNPF) is the official philanthropic partner of Mount Rainier, North Cascades, and Olympic National Parks, which span more than 1.6 million acres of the Evergreen state. Annually, WNPF allocates monies to more than 40 otherwise unfunded projects with the goal of deepening the public’s love for, understanding of, and experiences in Washington’s National Parks.
