The Badfish Band (reggae/funk) from Corvallis, OR are bringing up some sunshine music for the people of Tacoma. Playing with The Schematics. Get up and get down!
The Badfish Band will be playing with The
Schematics at Jazzbones on July 25. Here is the bio for the Badfish Band
United for the sole purpose of spreading a love of funk, reggae, ska, and rock, The Badfish Band imparts talent, passion, and a festive stage show to eager fans. Though creatively conspiring in Corvallis, OR, The Badfish Band draws inspiration from each members varied origins, including Southern jam band influence of Curtis Monette (lead guitarist/vocals), and the Hawaiian reggae roots of Matt Urabe (vocals/keyboards/tenor saxophone). Grant Thomas (trombone,) Evan Churchill (trumpet,) and Rob Pawlowski (trumpet) combine to add a vivid layer of horns onto an already fulfilling musical experience. Kailana Baldwin-Francis (bass/vocals) and Lance Lacey (drums) fuse to complete a rhythm section worthy of replacing your Grandfather’s funkiest of clocks. All congealed behind the polished melodies and entertaining banter of Johnny Desmarteau (vocals/rhythm guitar). Recently, The Badfish Band has shared the stage with, Amadan, Intervision, Outpost, Tony Smiley, State of Jefferson, Uprite Dub Orchestra, Satori, Debra Arlyn, Canoe and Ghostland Observatory. The Badfish Band is capable of provoking the dance moves out of any concert goer.
