Living at the Leading Edge

We in the Pacific Northwest live in a geologically active part of the planet. We have a deep history of assembling our land by crashing and slipping major parts or Earth's crust. Duncan Foley, Ph.D. is a geologist, author, photographer, innovator and educator in the field of geosciences. He will present a talk on the historical geology of how the PNW was assembled, why it is so active here, and how we can live safely in this dynamic area. This class will be held Friday, November 17th, 10:30 to 12:30, in PLU's Morken Center, Room 103. Class fee: $15, payable at the door- cash or check. Campus parking pass may be found at our website- www.plu.edu/liferoadscholar or at the registration table. This class is offered by Learning Is ForEver (LIFE), a non-profit educational organization for active retirees. A community outreach of PLU's Office of Continuing Education, LIFE is also a member of Road Scholar's network of Lifelong Learning Institutes.
